Which sport groups will be able to use the stadium?
The new facilities will be used by a variety of major sporting groups, including:
- Athletics WA
- Basketball WA
- Western Australian Institute of Sport
- Perth Wildcats
- Western Force
- school groups
- community sporting groups
Community sporting groups will utilise facilities on a regular basis.
Where can I find out more information about what is happening on the old Perry Lakes site?
The Perry Lakes site will be redeveloped by LandCorp with a high-quality residential development.
For more information on the Perry Lakes project, please visit the LandCorp website www.landcorp.com.au
Why are new facilities being developed on AK Reserve and not at the current site?
The Perry Lakes site will be redeveloped into residential housing with the proceeds funding the construction of the new facilities. The Town of Cambridge is also guaranteed a $50 million return.
Moving the location of the sporting facilities from the existing Perry Lakes site to AK Reserve means that the community can be provided with new sporting facilities with minimal disruption. The AK Reserve site provides adequate space for the new facilities and its location allows for easy and safe access for users.
